Hi I just want to know is there any Law in India to enact HRA @ 40 % or 50 % of the basis salary of the employee?

There is HRA Act in some States - WB, Maharashtra etc. where there is State act which has stipulated 5% HRA on Basic & DA.
40% 0R 50% is as per IT rebate nothing to do with HRA Act.
