Hi, I'm working in the Pvt LTD service company. Our head office is in Mumbai, and the branch office is in Bangalore. I'm currently on medical leave, and our branch office is relocating to Mumbai. I have not received any legal notice yet. They are considering either transferring the employees or asking them to leave. However, due to my medical leave, I am unable to move to Mumbai. Please advise me on this.

You are still an employee of the Bangalore branch of the company, though on authorized medical leave, and you have not received any communication from your employer about the shifting of the branch office from Bangalore to Mumbai. Perhaps it is an indication that you may be asked to report for duty at the Mumbai branch after the expiry of your medical leave. When the branch itself is closed for whatever reason, the transfer of employees to another branch is the only option available to the employer in the interest of both parties. Therefore, I suggest that you wait until the expiry of your medical leave. If the employer insists on your joining in the middle of the medical leave, you can plead inability with a proper medical certificate.
