Works committee meetings should be during working hours. Why have them after business hours? It's a mechanism to improve the effectiveness of working conditions as well as maintain harmonious relations between employees and employers.

Dear Harsha,

The question of payment of OT arises for the work performed. Works Committee Meetings do not fall under the definition of work performed in connection with the work of the employer. As already suggested by Mr. Singh, schedule all meetings during working hours.

If we plan a works committee meeting in non-business hours, do we need to pay overtime for them?

How many employees will be present for the meetings? What will be the cost of such meeting overtime? Is it too high that the organization cannot bear such high costs? Why are you not able to conduct the meeting during working hours?
