Hi All,
I am working for a startup IT company in Chennai. We have one employee working from home in Mumbai. Do we need to count her for the Labour Welfare Fund as well? If so, how do we contribute to her LWF amount? We only have an office in Chennai.
Please reply.
Thanks, S. Narasimhan

Hi Narasimhan,
Kindly provide the details as below and headcount details. We will prepare the returns and share them with you. Please let us know if there are any unpaid accumulations (beyond 3 years) and fines deducted (applicable in the particular quarter) from the employees. As per the provisions of the Labour Welfare Fund Act, if there is any such deduction required to be remitted to the LWF board. In case of any unpaid wages due to an employee older than 3 years as of December 31, 2014.
Thank you.

Hi,
You have to pay LWF for all employees except managers and those in supervisory roles who are drawing a salary of more than Rs. 15k. For 2014, you have to deduct Rs. 7 from the employee and contribute Rs. 14 from the employer, paying it in favor of the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board.
From the next year, you have to deduct Rs. 10 from the employee and Rs. 20 from the employer towards contributions for the year 2015.
Attached are the benefits of paying the LWF. Make sure to avail of these benefits for lower-level employees. http://www.tn.gov.in/rti/proactive/l...book_e_LWB.pdf
