I, the undersigned, work in a construction company. My question is: if the principal employer issues Form V in my company, is it necessary to ensure that the contractors have deposited PF in my establishment code, even if they have and maintain their own code?
Please provide suitable advice and a legal opinion.

Contractor's PF and ESI Registration
If the contractor has separate PF/ESI registration, he can deposit the PF and ESI by himself based on the wages paid to his workers. If he does not have his own registration, the principal employer will remit the PF and ESI in respect of the workers engaged by the contractor at the principal employer's premises based on the wages statement submitted by you and recover the amount so paid from the amount payable to the contractor.
