Can anyone please help with this subject? If a W.B. Govt. serviceman died at the age of 57 years and 9 months, can his dependent family get a government job on compensation grounds? If yes, please discuss what the procedure is to secure a government job on compensation grounds.

Thanking you.

Please provide me with the details:

1. State / Central Govt
2. Total duration of service and joining date
3. Is this the only Govt job? (In some cases, ex-servicemen will work in Central Govt after retirement and then join other Govt sectors like banks, etc.)
4. Grade and Salary at the time of death
5. Dependent's benefits already availed
6. Whether the employees of that sector have a union

Based on these, we can guide you.

Thank you for your kind reply. I am providing the basic information you wanted to know:

1. It is a West Bengal state government service.
2. The joining date of service is 06/11/1980, and the total duration of service is 31 years and 8 months.
3. It is only a pure government job.
4. At the time of death, his grade was "B" grade staff, and the pay band was 3 (according to ROPA '2009 Act of W.B. Govt.), and the total salary was 15,100 (including Basic 11,500/- + Grade Pay 3,600/-).
5. His dependents have already received his Death Gratuity and other benefits like G.P.F., etc.
6. It is purely in the state government sector, not the Union Govt.

Now, I hope I have satisfied your query. Please provide me with the right answer regarding my main query.

Thank you

There is a union for all B Grade employees of all state government departments; you can contact them. There is a 100% chance to get the job if the additional compensation is not paid. The fact is that you need to get it done off the records.
