Dear all, I have the following doubts regarding gratuity eligibility. Can any of you please explain the following:

1. Is a five-year service period calculated as 4 years + 240 working days, or is it considered as a continuous 5-year period?
2. Should this five-year period be counted up to the date of resignation or the date of relieving?

Dear Ravi, In my opinion & as per gartuaty act. 5 years for gratytity eligibility is 4 years+240 working days. & five years to be considered up to date of relieving.
