What is the value, benefit, or requirement of a cover letter along with the CV for a job application? When recruiters are scanning through the CVs, they quickly glance over other relevant details in the CV rather than reading through mundane, stereotyped, parroted cover letters.

To make the CV in its completeness and presentable way, the cover letter is recommended, albeit, the interviewer attach less significance to the cover letter. Pon

Cover letters hardly make any difference these days. We have to realize that most resumes are viewed through electronic mediums. Further, given the number of resumes that one receives and the stiff targets recruiters are required to meet, hardly anybody pays attention to cover letters. Exception cases could be when companies solicit resumes only as hard copy.
