Hello Friends,

I have to contact a workshop with the faculty members of a college, and the task assigned to me is to enhance their communication skills.

If you all could suggest some games that I can play with them during the effective communication workshop, I would be highly obliged to you all.

Hello Pearl,

I was facilitating a training course, and this game worked really well. Make a shape with some different colored LEGO building blocks. Two candidates sit back to back, and one candidate tries to explain how to build the shape to another. Have a couple of observers in the room as well.

Generally, people find the first attempt tricky. If they are finding it difficult, ask them to demonstrate their listening skills. Are they confirming that their partner has understood? Are they getting frustrated when the person is not understanding the directions they are given? How do they feel? The candidates loved it today.

Hope this helps.

Hi Pearl,

You may want to use games, depending on the objectives that you would want to convey. Communication skills, in itself, have a lot of topics, including one-on-one communication, listening, public speaking, etc. You may want to explore some basic yet hard-hitting activities as well. "Chinese whispers" could be one. You may want to be simple yet effective.

Rohan
