Dear All, Need to advise if the HR career is better with any company or with an NGO.
One of my associates is planning to join NGO as HR & Admin head leaving his current engineering company.

Seems all HR & Admin activities will remain the same irrespective of the Company or NGO but career-wise which is the better option.
Can any senior person guide us on same?

Dear Colleague,

The HR is by and large a common function applicable to various settings like Manufacturing, IT, ITES, Hospitality, Health Care, Financial, NGO, Education sector and so on.

The key difference between these sectors are :

1. Level of exposure and further knowledge gaining possibility
2. Capability building and career advancement possibility
3. Compensation and Benefits
4. Upscaling possibility of Skills and Training Opportunities
5. Retiral benefits that are possible and Social Security support which are more than statutory etc

Hence each sector is having clear difference on all these and move aspects and one has to decide very clearly on what is his passion. Personally to me for the racing period of productive time it is important to earn more which is possible only in IT/ ITES/ Manufacturing sector. Normally NGOs the Pay structure and further growth will not be much progressive. Once he gains sufficient bank balance and other benefit in hand he can choose to serve in NGO for his soul satisfaction which is always possible.

During young time first earn and gain. After a stage move towards passionate field. This is a personal view but each person is the only judge in his life and your friend's decision will be the final in this as he could have some reasons not know to us.

God bless and All the Best
