Thanks for the story. Please note this answer. We are all Spirit Souls that have left the Kingdom of God many life times ago to enjoy the material world. When we start to ask who we are it means that we are starting our quest back to Home Back to Godhead Ian

So interesting story. What should i answer on the day of judgement? Who am I? If I am not to be known by my relation, profession and the deeds, I am indeed known by my name. What is there in my name???? Soul???? Great, I am just wondering.

Who am i - I am a human being first. There is a clear distinction between Being & Doing kind of things. All other non human species like animals, birds/ beasts & so on so forth are Doing kind of things because they don't have the gift of intellect to distingush between good and bad, creative & destructive course of action, evolution & disaster, devine& devil. The gift of intellect is given to the human being only who can make this planet as heaven if engages his intellect in creative & positive direction otherwise if he acts as Doing kind of animals without thinking about the consequences of own actions, he is not capable to be termed as human being. Now a days, with dwindling moral & ethical values more human beings are converting in to Animal ( Doing ) more so our political leaders who have made the country as hell. May GOD help such people to be the human being. Thanks

Hi,
Dont waste time in thinking or getting the answer "WHO ARE WE?". But we are sent to here by the Divine on some purpose. Let us work to fulfill the purpose on which we are here. Once we serve with the purpose then only we come to know "who and why are we here?" This would tell by others "Who are we". example: Mahatma Gandhi "Who is he?".

Dear Madhumita,
This one is the good question. Everyone should ask this question to ourselves in our life to keep our first step for 'SELF REALIZATION. The Big saint "RAMANA MAHARISHI" asked the same question and written a book in this tittle.
Who are we? We are SOUL. There is no birth or death for soul, no end for soul, no gender for soul.
How to realize? Pure LOVE is the only and simplest way to
'SELF REALIZATION' and "GOD REALIZATION"
Do meditation to get soul awarness through that you will get self realization
So, keep smile and love all.
May the GOD blessings be...

DEAR MADHUMITA,
Really a very good piece of information AND A GOOD QUESTION. In fact, if I may submit so, there will be lot of real happiness and peace in the world, if people become aware of the answer to the question "who are U?". The moment they become aware of this fact, their behavior and attitude towards life and other people drastically change. Sri Sri Ravishankar's AOL program this is taught. At least when I attended the program about 6 years ago, this question was asked and no one was able to give perfect answer.
Unfortunately we are all living in an falsely imagined world. The answer to this question can drive this illusion from our mind.Trainers have to think in this direction for achieving better results.

Thanx a lot Madhumita for that very interesting piece. The question who am I, does n't have easy answers. One person who thought about it threw away his royal robes and went searching for the answer, ultimately became enlightened and people called him Gautam Budha!!!!! May be, we need to really cast off the robes of many a notions we have about us before we discover ourselves. It is a long and tedious journey, chances are that we may return back with the expression 'it is not worth it!!!' (Already it has been voiced above) but many who have sat down with that quest have found real joy and happiness after discovering themselves!!!1 Any how worth a real try , I would say KK Nair
