Dear Nafa6863,
Your question is why there is an emergency exit in canteen?
Not only in canteen but in every room of a factory should have emergency exit to safe escape of the occupants in case of fire or other emergency. Even the factory premises and compound should have emergency exit.
According to you, you spend bit of time in canteen and therefore why there is a need of emergency exit. No one need not to tell you that emergency can come at any time. And canteen is having full of fire hazard.
You also need to take NOC from fire officer for canteen. The fire officer also see whether you have complied with the provision of emergency exit.
