Dear Nadeem,
I can now understand the situation more in depth. Its plain - people working to get to higher positions. Please understand that an added MBA will not help in "a great way everytime". Managerial skills comes with practise.
To control the expression is to be aware of that first. Once you are aware- practise having a smile on your face, dont talk. Drink water and count from 1 to 10 in your mind. This words more than just being asked to so. Dont wait to respond at that point... Respond only after some time.
Because of someone else tryign to act smart and put you down, if you react, then it means that they have won in their effort to make you feel low. Take it as a challenge. This is not difficult - you have seen much more difficult things in life right? and you have made it a point to succeed in everything, so why not in this too. Just try.

Hey Nadeem,

This discussion is getting really really informative. You know what, I am copying all the suggestion given by expets and making a note of a case study...he he he....seems I am becoming a book writer. :-P

Well, more about our PM. He treats each of our experts and learned Engr just like a baby. Pampers and hears to them every time they cry and at same time keeps the final decision in his own hand. His always there for staff's personal needs, put never let off his objective of business needs. He interats with staff very often not only for work related activities but also personal issues. He even has is secert team of two personal (birbal) amongst the staff to give him feedback, so he never misses any staff's problem and issues or potential danger for the business.

All in all, its just Human Relations. I feel, that this is a skill which no one can teach you and imbibe in you. But its there with every human being in abundance and its needs to be triggered by you and use it.

All the very best...I am doing it here...I am sure you can also...

regards

Nice to hear that you are getting these soft skills by your project manager.
lets discuss some more details
if you can prepare a Progress chart for him like
1- what was his first designation after completing his education.
2- after how many years he got the 2nd (after how many job changes and how many steps he reached to this level.
3- If you can ask him what is his next goal and how he is going to get this.
same research I made for my General manager at that time and now managing director who is at present one of the best paid in the industry and I found that he started his carrier as a sales engineer and in 6 steps and change of 4 companies and a duration of 28 years he is now MD since last one year.
One thing I will tell you that they are not our ideals but we are trying to get some thing from their history.
Ash sugession I recieved are appreciable wish to hear again.
Thanks and regards
