Hii Anish,

Thanx for providing such a valuable information. i need some suggestion frm u. I am a B.Tech in IT . Presently i m pursuing MBA frm Delhi. I have decided to choose HR as Major. and IT as minor. if i choose IT as minor , college will provide free SAP training. i don't think they will teach SAP as per the industry requirements. they will give just a overview of it. so pls tell me should i take IT as minor ? and pls also tell me if there are any good institutes at Delhi for SAP. Is it necessary to take SAP training from a Branded Institute?

Dear Friends,

Today was 2nd day of my SAP-HR Functional module.

I can not suggest you right now the name of my Institute. Let me once convince with its effectiveness then I will let you know.

Mean while do visit different institutions wherever they are providing SAP training. By comparing their fee structure, facilities, support, most important - faculy, post placement support are the different criterias.

But I would suggest to join it as early as possible. Its golden time to start it. In the month of April - May we will get good opportunities.

Institutes are providing very flexible timings. It could be 4 hr a day (5 days a week), 2 hrs a day, Saturday-Sunday or Only Sunday. Accordingly the time duration will increase or decrease.

I will share my personal experience of initial 5 days' training.

Keep discussing. We will get good ideas here.

Please share some more info if anybudy get to know about On the Job training in SAP or full time and part-time job in Mumbai.

Dear Ms. Anjana,

First of all thanks for recognising my efforts.

I wd try my best to give you my idea on your different questions.

There are different factors on which people choose specialisation. If you are an Engineer with IT and taking HR as your major then you will have ample opportunities in IT Industry. Taking IT as your minor could give you ease because its your cup of tea, but after entering into management, I suggest you to take other options so that it will increase your knowledge base.

How a business enterprise works and how different departments are inter-connected, that you need to learn.

Now, lets talk about SAP. You are right, in ur college you will get an exposure same as like learning any other software package. But SAP is not only understanding its capabilities, but also its application in business function integration. Therefore our seniors suggest us to go for SAP only after acquiring at least 1 year of domain experience in Industry of your interest.

All my thoughts above might not be correct or satisfying your query, because everybody has different perspective. Friends, please correct me if I am wrong on any of the points.

I also request our other friends too, to discuss it here, so that everybody would get the advantage out of that.
