In 2020, company committed to provide a retention bonus which were plan to roll out in quarterly basis. The first part was provided in April 2020 itself. But after that they not provided and after a long mail communication with HR and higher management they started to provide the remining amount in 2021.I resigned from that company in September 2021 and in the full and final settlement the company asked to return the all the retention bonus (1.2 L ) that they committed in 2020.
When I communicated with HR, and provided the intimation from their side that the payout was planned on 2020 . She agreed and working to resolve the issue.
Today I got a "Legal Notice of Demand" to pay back all.
Could you please guide me to resolve this issue
