Hi. I was working with Motilal Oswal Financial Service ltd. as an assistant manager from 2020-2022. it a stock broking company and my responsibilities are to take care of investors and provide them customer services help. one of our client loss all his money in trading and he was liable to pay 17000 more to the company as an charges and taxes. it was a loss for company because he refused to pay the amount. after my resignation the company hold my full and final salary and reliving letter due to this amount not recovered from client. now they are not agree to pay my salary for this reason. it is legal. can i go to some authority for complaining against my employer.

Hi,

You claim that your Company Client had lost all money in trading and was liable to pay Rs.17000/- to company and he refused to pay back to the company.

Now the primary questions are

Is the client incurred loss in trading due to your wrong guidance or due to your negligence in work?

Recovery of money from customers is your responsibility or any separate recovery division is there?

Company can hold the proportionate amount of settlement only when the company incurred loss due to your negligence of work which also needs to be proved with supporting documents after proper enquiry.

So if you haven't guided the customer wrongly and if you are not responsible for the recovery of money from customers then you may contact Labour officer of your juridiction. But before that get in touch directly with the employer and try for amicable solution first.
