Can any of you give examples of how you were able to bring down the absenteesim rate (Unscheduled leaves) of the Operators. Also is there any survey standard to say what is normal absenteesim rate in an assembly organization.

Dear all, Further to my quirey raised, I have found few useful info on crubbing the absenteesim of Unscheduled leaves. As per Industrial standard 3% is normal that any organization can take into account as Unplanned leaves. Also There are varies type of unplanned leave takers 1. Sickey leavers - Normally the one who tends to take leave on either Friday/Monday citing common health problems - Gastroties, Flu, Headace & back pain 2. Real health problem - Where org can work on finding the reasons of problems & extend a help as a corporate social responsibility to society. As per the Stats - on avg normally this unplanned leave takers can cost 1.6% excess on total direct manpower cost & are usually found more in Blue collar job holders with less pay. Means, It is possible to crub this problem by giving a good councelling to the people on return to work & it is proved to have helped achieve 60%-70% reduction in unplanned absenteesim there by helping organization with reduced Overheads. It is a huge amount in an year which can be saved depending on the absent rate at your organization. Regards, Thotesh

hi 1. monotony in work conditions i.e. same routine work in work force lead to more of absentism in present industrial sector. 2. You find the same in all class of workforce i.e from white colored to labour force. 3. over bossessim cause more of absents 4. friendly atmosphere and motivation with good sperit bring down the ratio of absentism in any industry, bad luck we rarely find in indian industrial sector except for the corporate sector. 5. Revording the best present workmen can lead to competition in work force and bring down the absentism. 6. To understand the workmen and their behaviour and help the needy at right time can reduce absentism. 7. Understanding team work and leaving aside bossessim can bring down the absentism. Hi, Do the counselling and findout the reasons if the organisation want to reduce the abseentism they can do some of the corrective measures. 1. Giving the bus pass to the employee 2. Small medical treatment room for the employees. 3. Provinding breakfast/lunch at subsidary rate for the employees. Like wise you can add up further more .... Sitaraman Sr. Manager
