sir, whether workmen as defined in industrial and commercial employment standing orders includes managerial ,supervisory or admin staff while workmen is defined in standing orders as workman means any person employed in any industrial or commercial establishment to do any skilled or unskilled, manual or electrical work for hire or reward?

Understanding the Definition of Workman in the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act

The Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act does not define a workman. The Act states that the same interpretations as provided in the Industrial Disputes Act will apply to workmen (and wages) under the Standing Orders Act. Therefore, it depends on how you draft the standing orders and define or interpret the workman/employee. If you apply the provisions of your standing orders to all employees, including your managers, then it will also be applicable to the managers. On the other hand, if you limit it to workers without considering supervisors and managers, then it will only apply to those who do not have supervisory or managerial roles and rights.
