As per the Payment of Bonus Act, an employee is entitled to receive a bonus if they have worked for 30 days in an accounting year. If a person joined on 1st March and worked the full month, i.e., 26 working days and 5 weekly off days, will he/she be eligible for a bonus? In this case, will the number of working days be considered as 26 or 31?

In my view, the weekly offs should also be included in computing the 30 days worked by an employee since they are statutorily allowed to him, and thus he is eligible for a bonus for the relevant accounting year.
