This is the index to analyze test of KRA.

1. Difficulty Index: Determines the difficulty level of an item.[ KRA ]

Steps

1. Assemble the past KRA results in chronological order according to past scores, from higher to lower scores

2. Place the results in two groups: High Score Group and Low Score Group

3. For each KRA you analyze, compute the scores to that item in each group.

For example, in KRA 1 , the High Group may have 9, 8,10,8,7 which totals =42

while the Low Group may have 2,3.2,1,4 which totals= 12

Difficulty Index

1. Add the total numbers in both groups and divide this number by the total number of elements [10]

from the above exercise 42 + 12 = 54 is divided by 10, that 54/10.

2. Multiply this figure by 100.

from the above exercise, 54/10 x 100= 54%

IN THIS example, the difficulty index for the KRA 1 is 54.

I have used a very simple example to show the process.

In real life situations it would vary widely.

The difficulty index indicates

-KRA positioning

-reflects on the nature of the jobs/ tasks

-training required to lift the game

-aptitude of individual employees

-attitude towards the tasks

-competence required to tackle the job

etc etc.

hope this is useful to you

We have designed a new PA system to be implemented w.e.f. year 2006. It asks the apreisee to define targets/objectives for the comming year with difficulty level (for each of the targets).
The problem is that how to determine the difficulty level. Pls advise.
