Same case with one of my relative he was working for Delhi based company in Jan'19 and after that he has joined Simplex Infrastructure Ltd. in Aligarh in Feb'19 for only 15 days and returned to the old company and in between Simplex has opened his PF account. due to this his old company continued his old PF no. and finally Simplex has not mentioned date of exit in his PF account.
In that case one and only way, he has to ask to Simplex for correction in his database so that he can only able to withdraw the PF account.
Because some time only claims are not entertained by the PF department and caused rejected.

Hello there,
employer has no right to hold or not to update the exit date; i can advise you to ask few more times, if they didn't respond on same, write a letter and lodge a complaint in nearest PF office. with all supporting documents

You need to send a written mail to the HR person and copy to EPFO concerned office mail id. So that they will respond immediately. They do not have rights to with held your PF. Regards,
