Hi All,

I wanted some information on the rehire policy. Please provide me with some important points regarding rehiring. Specifically, I would like to know about the employee ID given to rehired employees. Should we use their previous employee ID or assign a new one?

Please advise.

Thank you,
Gladys

You should not give the employee the old ID, you should deactive the old id and issue him/her a new ID.

Dear Gladys,

Re-hire (Reinstatement) is a significant subject; first of all, we have to determine if the employee was terminated, resigned, or left the company at the end of the contract.

If the employee was terminated by mistake and later reinstated upon realization, the employee should be given back his same ID. He should be considered a continuous employee from the date of his joining, and his End of Service Benefits should be provided from the first day of his joining.

If the employee left the job due to resignation or the end of the contract, you can issue a new ID since there is no reason to consider his service as continuous. His end of service settlement will be calculated from the date of his re-join.

Hope this reply addresses your query! Please do not hesitate to contact me for further assistance.

With best wishes and warm regards,
