Hi Folks:

I'm planning to organize an external workshop for the managers and team leaders of my company. However, the vendors with whom the company is looking forward to working are unprofessional.

They never give a timely response to the emails sent to them, making it extremely difficult for me to coordinate and re-coordinate when things don't go as planned due to their late or no responses. When I coordinated with the participants and fixed a schedule for the vendor trainer to interact with them, they arrived quite late on that day and didn't even care to inform me in advance. I had requested the vendor trainer's profile, and while they replied to me, I couldn't find any profile attached to the email. I immediately brought this to their attention; however, to date, I haven't heard back from them. Dealing with their unprofessionalism has been very challenging.

How can I diplomatically and assertively communicate via email that such unprofessionalism will not be entertained?

Please guide and suggest.

Thanks.

Sorry to read that you had to put up with such unprofessional behavior. The solution to this problem would be to insist on framing a contract letter in such a manner that pre-training, training, and post-training activities are covered with a clause stating that in case of inadequate service at any stage of the association, either party has the right to terminate the contract. Of course, the scope of service is something that you and your vendor will have to decide upon.

Hope the suggestion is fruitful.
