EPF Contributions Announcement
FM announced that both employee and employer contributions to EPF for 3 months from March 2020 will be borne by the Central Government, subject to conditions.
Query Related to Establishments Fulfilling These Conditions
1. Does the ceiling of Rs. 15,000 wages refer to gross wages or EPF wages?
2. While filing ECR for March 2020, do we have to show the wages (Gross, EPF Wages, EPS Wages)? Should we show nil contribution?
3. What about administrative charges and DLI; are they payable as usual?
My above queries to EPFO by mail have not been replied to. The helpline of EPFO is non-functional. Due to the lockdown, I cannot visit the nearest EPFO office.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has provided relief by covering both employee and employer contributions to EPF for a specified period. Regarding the queries:
1. The ceiling of Rs. 15,000 wages typically refers to the basic wages and dearness allowance for EPF calculation purposes.
2. When filing ECR for March 2020, it is advisable to show the wages accurately, distinguishing between Gross, EPF Wages, and EPS Wages. If there are no contributions for this period, indicating nil contributions is recommended.
3. Administrative charges and DLI are usually payable as usual unless there are specific directives or waivers issued by EPFO in response to the pandemic situation. It would be prudent to consult official sources or notifications for any updates on this matter.
