Hi, I am doing a project on exit interviews in the BPO sector. The main objective of my project is to understand whether exit interviews really matter or if they are just a formality. I plan to study the various HR policy changes brought about by organizations based on the data collected from the exit interviews.
Kindly give me suggestions on how I should proceed with my project.
Thanks,

Hi,
Exit interviews are not just a mere formality; they are a process to understand a person's response towards the company's policies, procedures, and work atmosphere. The exit interview is partly responsible for reducing attrition in any company because only through this process can a person provide valuable comments, suggestions, and address their problems.
Once the exit interview is completed, one should document and analyze the factors that led the person to quit. By gathering details from a few or many employees, you can identify numerous loopholes that make employees uncomfortable, thus enabling the opportunity to create new policies or amend existing ones to be more employee-friendly.
The exit interview should not conclude at that point; its reports and analysis should be presented to a management team for discussion on the outcomes and to devise necessary solutions.
I believe this information will be useful to you to some extent. If you would like to learn more, please feel free to email me at bob_5979@yahoo.co.in.
