I am a Software Engineer. My employer deducted PF every month from my salary (I have payslips as proof of how much they deducted towards PF) but did not deposit it at the EPF office. So, what should I do? Whom should I complain to? How can I retrieve my PF amount from the employer who deducted the PF from my salary but did not deposit it in the EPF office? Somebody, please help me...

How to Address Non-Deposit of PF by Employer
How did you come to know that the PF deducted from your salary was not deposited? The authentic reply I expect is that you came to know about the default from the Provident Fund Office only. If so, you can meet the PF Enforcement Officer and seek his help.
If you have come to know about your employer's non-compliance from other means or hearsay, please do not take it as it is. Instead, you should meet the concerned person in the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation of the area and ask for an update on your account. They will help you.

Dear Raju,
Ascertain your Employer's Code and your PF A/c. No. You can check your account details online. Otherwise, ask your PF in-charge for a statement of account to understand your transactions in PF. If you notice any fraudulent activity, immediately approach your RPFC to investigate and lodge a complaint if necessary.

Exempted Companies and PF Trusts
In the case of exempted companies that hold their PF in Trust, the modus operandi is different and is as per trust regulations. The withdrawal cannot be made from the EPF Organisation, and you have to verify the balance of your account from the Trust only.

Thank you, Madhu, for your valuable information. Kindly tell me about exempted companies and how they operate their PF in a trust. I also want to ask if there are any rules and regulations applicable to that trust.

I am working in an infrastructure company. The employer is regularly deducting PF from my salary, but for the last year, they have not been depositing the same into my EPF account. I have transferred my previous company account, and I need money/loan from my EPF account. Can anybody guide me on how I can avail this loan?
Changing PF Deduction Consent
Furthermore, since my basic salary is more than 15,000/-, can I change my consent for the deduction of PF at this juncture? The employer is very adamant and reluctant to remit the deducted PF amount.

Since you are an existing member, you cannot opt out of PF. You should continue contributing. Regarding remittances and recovery, the PF authorities will take care of it, and there are measures to recover the amounts from the employer.

Thank you, Madhu T. K. I want a loan from my EPF account to meet some personal requirements. I am unable to put in a loan request due to irregularities in my PF account (non-payment of contributions by the employer). Can I reduce the contribution amount?

Case of Non-remittance of Deducted PF from an Employee's Salary
The company is deducting PF from the employee's salary. The employee has opted to transfer savings from a previous EPF account to the current account. However, the current employer is not depositing the deducted PF since the employee submitted this transfer application (13 months have passed). The previous employer has duly stamped, signed, and returned the transfer application to the current employer. The employee doesn't know if the same has been submitted to EPFO.
Verification of PF Transfer
How can the employee verify that the amount is transferred to the current employer's EPF account and not withdrawn by anyone else using the procedure available for the withdrawal of PF by taking the Bank manager's or PF commissioner's signature? The account has not been updated for the last 13 months by EPFO due to non-remittance.
Depositing PF Without Employer's Knowledge
Furthermore, how can the employee get this amount deposited into his account without the current employer's knowledge? In the past, EPFO officials had revealed the person's name who expressed grievances through the EPFO portal.
Interest Loss and Recovery
What about the interest loss on this account? How can the lost interest on this amount be recovered?

Sir, I applied for my PF in February this year and I received my UAN number and passbook. However, despite submitting all the required documents for withdrawing the amount, I have not yet received any funds in my personal account. Every time I call the office, they inform me that my documents are incomplete. On another occasion, they claim that I have not submitted the necessary documents. This cycle of excuses has been ongoing for over 7 months. What can I do in this case? Please help me.

When you find this kind of non-payment of PF cases, it is better to raise a grievance at the PF portal. For remaining EPF members, they can claim PF amount online or offline by submitting PF claim forms.
