Firstly, I am very confused between SAP HR and SAP ERP. What is the difference between these two? I have completed my MBA in HR. Which course would be most suitable for me? I am hesitant to pursue SAP as I am an HR professional, but I am seeking better growth opportunities and higher-paid jobs. Could you please suggest which course is currently in high demand?

Hello Vrushali,

It is Shivendra. SAP is an exhaustive ERP, and SAP HR is one of its modules. You can go for SAP certification only if you have 2+ years of corporate exposure. It is exorbitantly costly; however, it comes with ample growth opportunities. You have to be very clear about it before entering into it.

Feel free to ask anything.

Shivendra

Hi Shivendra,

I am from Pune and have 4 months of experience as an HR Generalist. I received a call from one of the SAP training institutes regarding the course, and they informed me that I am eligible for their module. However, based on my knowledge, it is true what you mentioned about needing 2+ years of experience.

Please guide me if you have any information about this. The institute's name is Global Enterprise Infotech Solutions.

Thank you.

Hello Vrushali, Amit, Manohar,

SAP HR is an ERP, but far exhaustive. It has 74 modules in all; HR module is one of these. It is real-time software to manage and promote the organization. There are three profiles you can work in after being certified: implementation, support, and end-user profile. Only Siemens and Genovate are authorized to certify you in India, and the eligibility for this is corporate experience of 2+ years. It is very costly. As far as the career prospects are concerned, it is great—a green field. The other institutes are going to make money out of you people. Though I agree, in comparison to the Rs. around four lakhs, if they are charging thirty to thirty-five thousand (as I think they would be pleading for), they would be providing you a foothold in this field. Furthermore, you can go for the certification. Those who do not have 2+ years of experience would not be considered by the agencies I have mentioned above. Still, after going for the SAP training, you are thinking the actual one at least to be considered good enough to get a position in SAP requirements.

And Amit, one thing I want to make clear is that SAP is about technical expertise related to the installation and maintenance of software in the particular field of business activity such as HR, Finance, Marketing, Logistics, Inventory, etc. Domain knowledge is required to customize the software as per the requirements and policies of the organization where you would be working as an SAP expert.

Shivendra

Hello Baisneethesh,

Very good evening! I recommend pursuing SAP certification in the SD, CRM, or MM module, considering your extensive experience in marketing. While individuals with various backgrounds can opt for any module, your specific knowledge in marketing holds significant value.

I suggest visiting authorized websites online and, if feasible (especially if you are currently located in the NCR region), consider visiting Siemens in Gurgaon before making a decision.

Wishing you all the best.

With regards,
Shivendra

Hi Shivender, I have completed a BTech in Computer Science and an MBA in HR, but I don't have any experience. Can you suggest whether I should go for SAP HR, SAP ERP, ERP HR, or any other short-term courses?

Thanks,

I have done my MBA in 2010. I am currently learning SAP, and right now, I am working as an HR Manager in an IT recruiting company. I believe I should make a change to a SAP career. Please let me know the best option. My job in the IT recruiting company is on the night shift.

Could you please help me with what should be my next step?
