Hi Seniors,

In my office, all the sites are blocked including citehr. When I asked for the access, they say to write a letter mentioning the benefits of citehr. This letter will go to the Director, and then he will decide.

Therefore, I request you to please send me the letter format to convince the management. I am also working in the HR department of the organization, just in case this can help.

Thanks and Regards,
Anu

Please tell us how large your organization is and what your role is. I also wonder why you need access to CiteHR at work. The problem for a firm is that if they give access to CiteHR, others would also want access to other sites.

Have a nice day.

Hello Anu,

Further to what (Cite Contribution) mentioned about the 'how & why' of CiteHR, Simhan has a valid point. Companies may hesitate to give access for the reason he mentioned.

One way you can handle this is to DIFFERENTIATE CLEARLY between CiteHR and other sites, especially social networking sites. When you send your letter, mention and highlight BOLDLY that THIS IS NOT A SOCIAL NETWORKING site.

Apart from including the links of the info (Cite Contribution) provided, just give a thought to any recent HR-related problem or issue that your company recently faced. Then check out in CiteHR through the 'Research' option if this or a similar issue was addressed and discussed earlier in the forum. If yes, then include the link to the thread in your letter to the Director, along with your appropriate comments on how your company could have benefited.

I am sure it will work, since human nature being what it is, the subconscious tendency is to focus on what affects 'US' and 'NOW'.

I hope you get what I mean.

All the Best.

Regards,

TS

Greetings,

I second Sateesh; please feel free to present the discussion from the Labour and Employee Relations sections. There is a sea of expert advice that almost every company requires to consult every now and then. Furthermore, sections such as Safety & Health Of Your Employees, Employee Compensation & Benefits, and similar categories can add to any management team's knowledge at the click of a button.
