Hi Pradeep,
I am very thankful for your attrition calculator because for the last 15 days, I have been working on it. I have gained many ideas from your calculator. Could you please share the password for the second sheet so that I can share the knowledge?
I have now started working on a Competency Matrix, but I need some help. Can you suggest some or share an excellent format for the same?

Hi,
I saw the calculator and would like to appreciate that it is a good Excel work. However, I have a few questions as well as a suggestion in my mind.
I have two questions here:
1) Which method has been used to calculate the attrition in the tracker? It is not possible to find out the method used to calculate the attrition. Is it a simple average method?
2) If we keep our opening strength and the closing strength as the same for a quarter, the formula does not account for the total number of attrition for the previous months. That means it is calculating only for the month's attrition.
Suggestion:
1) Ideally speaking, the closing balance of the month should automatically become the opening balance for the next month, which is not happening in the Excel. Maybe you can enhance it and link it with the closing balance of the previous month, which it will pick up as the opening of the next month.

Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion, and I would like to make this clear:
Firstly, the method used is the average method.
Secondly, we can assume the opening and closing strength are the same, but we can arrive at the closing strength only after calculating attrition, additions, and transfers.
However, I shall look into this and update if necessary.
Thanks,
Pradeep

Hi Pradeep,
Thank you very much for the attrition calculator. I am currently working on a project focused on developing HR metrics. These metrics will encompass factors such as time to hire, cost per hire, voluntary separation ratio, performance turnover in key roles, training ROI, payback period for training, succession planning metrics, and more. If you are able to assist with any of these, please respond.
Thank you,
Priyanka

Hi all,
Further to Pradeep's Excel file, I have just made a few basic changes in the format. This format calculates the opening balance for the subsequent month automatically. I hope this is of some use.
