Dear Ponraj,
Thanks for reminding us of what we had to sacrifice to gain freedom from the British. However, looking at the current scenario, politicians are plundering our own nation by all means. I am very upset and confused. I am a common man who pays all sorts of taxes - income tax, sales tax, professional tax, service tax, road tax, water tax, and many more. I have now realized that all this money fills an individual's pocket in the name of politics.
Even the Prime Minister of our country remains silent. When the PM himself cannot provide answers, where can a common man turn? Whom should we urge to stop all this? I feel fainted, cheated, and oppressed in every way, yet I remain the same common man, struggling to earn bread and provide education for my children. I pay taxes so that the country's politicians can move around in Mercedes, take private chartered planes or helicopters, while I am still reliant on buses.
I pay more for groceries and save very little, only to use that money to pay for the costs of digging my own grave after I am gone.
A common man,

I do agree with common man comments. Really, our politicians are plundering the country. But still, I am proud to be an Indian because even after the plundering by the Britishers, ex-politicians, and their successors, we are still alive. Really, salute to Bharat Mata. Jai Bharat Mata. Jai Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekara Azad, Subhas Chandra Bose, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Lal Bahadur Shastri... these are all real freedom fighters of our country.

Great one. The flag and the question at the end raised my spirit. Yes, we need to return a lot to our nation. The politicians derailed our nation and divided our people. We became Hindus, Muslims, Christians, northerners, Madrasis, Mumbaikars, and what not. Thanks a lot for posting this rare collection.
