Please clarify my following doubts: If an employee (who is covered under ESI) is transferred (transfer date is 1st Dec 2009) to another branch located in another state, will his ESI registration number remain the same?
In the above case, in which ESI office should we file the ESI HALF YEARLY return as of 31st Mar 2010?

Dear Mr. Richard,
First, you have to transfer his ESIC records from the previous ESIC local office to the current local ESIC office along with a copy of the last two HLY returns duly attested by the previous ESIC manager. When you submit his records to the current ESIC office, they will give you his new insurance number and insurance card, but the joining date and other benefits will remain the same.
