Is it possible to take loss of pay during early pregnancy as employees health is not well and doctor has suggested to take bedrest?

Pl.obtain proper medical certificate from the authorised medical practitioner and apply in proper form to your controlling/reporting officers/HoD for grant of sick leave in advance. Only If you don't have balance in your leave A/C only LWP (no work & no pay) could be availed with due prior approval. However in case if you are covered under ESIC you should undergo ESI procedures in this respect.
For other than ESI: Pl.go thru' the summary of Act provisions attached for your knowledge & guidance.

Yes; you can e on LOP.
You should have worked min. 9 continuous months in the company to avail maternity benefit.
if you satisfy the above condition then continue as below.
1. Covered under ESI: Register yourself in the nearest dispensary and start taking benefits and treatments from them. This will get you the salary for the maternity period along with some delivery benefits. You can resume to duty once fit.
2. Not covered under ESI: Inform your HR and Auth. persons about your health & maternity and request for maternity leave. Normal maternity leave will be 84 days; but inform your seniors about the extended leave due to health condition and you agree that the extended days will be LOP. If possible report to duty atleast for a week post delivery.
