Hi, I joined one company and worked for 4 months and 10 days. I enrolled in the PF scheme provided by that company during my service. Now, I have resigned from that company and joined a new one. The new company does not have a PF account; therefore, I would like to withdraw the amount accumulated in my previous PF account. Can anyone please confirm if a minimum of six months of service is required to withdraw from a PF account?

Hi,

No need to work for 6 months. Even if you have worked for just 1 day, you can withdraw the amount. However, as per the PF rules, there must be at least a 45-day gap in service (considering PF Payment) before any withdrawal is allowed. So, wait until the 15th of next month and then apply. You will need to fill out forms 10c and 19 for withdrawal. They are available at www.epfindia.com.

Dear,

It is not compulsory to work for 6 months to withdraw your PF. You can withdraw your PF after 2 months from the Date of Leaving. You will get your PF if you work less than 6 months. But for the Pension withdrawal, it is compulsory to work for 6 months. If you work less than 6 months, then you cannot withdraw your Pension amount. You can transfer the same by submitting a Transfer form to your new company.

Your PF settlement will go through, but not the pension. In order to claim a Pension Fund withdrawal, your contributory period must be more than 6 months; otherwise, the employer's contribution to the Pension Scheme is forfeited.
