The exit process basically consists of the amicable handing over all the assets and the relevant documents in his/her possession to his successor. If time permits then guide the successor in taking his job.The HR should see to it that all the assets whether immovable or movable are handed over to the organization. All the work related documents are handed over to the concerned. The exit interview should be conducted on the second last day of the employee relieving. After exit interview, the HR need not give any documents to the concerned person. If in case the exit interview is conducted on the last day then his full and final cheque, relieving certificate and his experinece certificate can be handed over to him.

Hi Madhu,
I think kunjal as explained to you everything for you short. According to me it can change a little depending on the company policy, here i would like to add one point. After the exit interview is completed and all the related documents are collected back from the employees than it will be always better to send out a mail to the team in the which that resigned employee was working, this will ensure you that the team will no more hand over any documents on last day in case of any urgency and more over the team will be alerted not to share any information with that particular employee.
Let me know in case you have any clarifications on the same topic.
