Dear seniors,

Our one employee gross salary is Rs.10000 / per month.

They are working 12 hrs/day.

How can we calculate per day salary and overtime salary as per factories act 1948.

Please check the following and kindly provide the correct one

(I) One day salary calculation

(A) [Rs.10000 / 26 = Rs.384.6 / day


(B) Rs. Rs.10000 / 30 = Rs. 333.33 / day,


(C) February month Rs.10000 / 28 = Rs.357.14


(D) January month Rs.10000 / 31 = Rs.322.58 / day


(E) Shall we divide the gross salary as per every calendar month days.

(II) Overtime Salary calculation for One hour

(A) [Rs.10000 / (26 x 8) ] x 2 = Rs. 96.15 /hr.


(B) [Rs.10000 / (30 x 8) ] x 2 = Rs.83.33 / hr.


(C ) [Rs.10000 / (28 x 8) ] x 2 = 89.28 / hr.


(D ) [Rs.10000 / (31 x 8) ] x 2 = Rs.80.64 / hr.


(E) Shall we divide the gross salary as per every month calendar days with divide 8 and multiply 2

Which one is correct in this above per day and hours wages calculation?

In this above, from which calculation PF will be deducted 12% from employee salary.

Otherwise PF will be deducted 12% from employee basic salary

Is PF deduction applicable to overtime wages or not?

Can we calculate Overtime salary from basic salary instead of Gross salary?

Can we calculate 12% PF deduction from basic salary instead of Gross salary?

Please clarify our above doubts.

Dear Thirumurugan,
You have not mentioned the type of the establishment. The normal working hours per day are 8 hrs only. However, depending upon the type of the establishment there is variation. For instance, in the case of Factories and Motor Transport Establishments it is 9 hrs/day.Similarly over time hours have got their daily-cum weekly ceilings.Therefore as a routine practice, you can not extract 12 hrs/day work including O.T.

I Vivek Singh worked at pvt Ltd CO. Since 1 april 2006 and in 15 january 2016 I resigned .company accept my resignation .
But my fnf, 15days salary,earn leave 40days,gratuity,bonous still due.
When I call he said will clear next 3to 4 days but not process .
I email hr and MD many times regarding this but no response only hr advice me fnf take some times every firm.
Pls advice me what I can do ?
