Dear Professionals,
My name is Nike Akinsanya, from Nigeria. I have just joined an electrical engineering firm as the HR& Admin Manager. This is a terrain I have never been and I am faced with the task to set up every processes that needs to be set up. I am done with staff audit, I have presented an organizational chart for approval, but I still need to be sure hat structure to be put in place considering every position that should exist in a standard electrical engineering firm. Kindly help me with an org chart or a list of possible positions that should exist in such an organization especially the technical positions. I will need job profiles too and possibly process documents for the technical departments.

Dear Sir,
We are Gujarat State, India base Electrical Contractors. I was also facing this problem when i newly joined. I was not even aware of basics of H.R. as i am ex-bank employee. I was of about 50 years when i joined this Company-basically a proprietary concern having place of business in Gujarat State, India. The attached formats frankly speaking not prepared by me but it helps lot while drafting J. D. of particular designation. I have used these basic J. D.'s for appointing various personnel in organization of course by making necessary adoptable, suitable as well as acceptable changes in it. You may utilize these formats as per your requirements of course as per size, environment, strategy, financial position of your organization. PLEASE ALSO MAKE NECESSARY ADDITION/DELETION AS PER PREVAILING APPLICABLE LAWS OF YOUR COUNTRY.

Our company is an Electrical & Mechanical Engineering company established with the vision to excel in the area of supply, installation, maintenance and testing of high and low voltage electrical and electro – mechanical equipment.
What I urgently need is the job profile of a Quantity Surveyor and the Head - Engineering&Projects. I am currently working on an MoU for third parties because we deal with them a lot.

Also, some details MAY need to be changed.....since you haven't given any details of the specific responsibilities of this position @ your end.


• XX to XX years’ experience in the field(s) of XXX—


• Degree/Diploma in Engineering, preferably mechanical or civil engineering


o Calculate Cost of Work Done (COWD) as well as any agreed variations, along with estimated cost to complete.

o Quantify changes (variations) and submit Change Request Forms.

o Assist with the procurement and contract administration of suppliers and sub contracts.

o Assist contracts engineers for—

-Verification of invoices for actual quantities related various maintenance contracts

- Verification of invoices based on contract’s terms and conditions

o Verification of actual quantities at site for following tasks—
