Hi All..
We are a small concern with 20 employees in which 6 are women. We are planning to set up some mandatory facilities or welfare stuffs for women..I need your help and suggestions on this.

Hi Kavi,

Nice to know , about your initiative regarding mandatory facilities or welfare stuffs for women .

But if you are planning to do such i would like to share that you can have same team for other purpose names "Internal Complaint committee , as am not sure if you are following this or not .

After the enforcement of the Sexual harassment rules and laws at workplace , it's now mandatory for every organisation from 9th December, 2013 to have an internal complaint committee to handle such activities .

This will add to the organisational administrative culture and have good impact among employees and others too showcasing our ethical and genuine business function too.

company's internal complaints committee:

Basic requirements:



· Presiding officer ; senior level female employee



· atleast 2 member from employees, preferaby committed to cause of women and have experience in social work or have legal knowledge ; we can select any 2 senior members



· Note : the presiding officer and every member of internal committee shall hold office for not more than 3 years from date of nomination



· 1 member from Non Governmental Organizations or associations committed to the cause of women.

· Note: the NGO member appointed shall be paid fees or allowances for holding the proceeding of the internal committee by the employer.

· NOTE : Atleast one half of total member shall be women : Team need to be of 6 members for convenience



Local committee is to be set up at every branch and office of the organization (this format is for the government organization, we need to have a similar at our level too)

Local committee: the local committee will have the same members

Now as per your requirement , you can have following :

celebration of women's day and plan for it .

Training for them : self defense, skill enhancement

Cretche( mostly industry of manufacturing units have, but not sure of your business type) ,

Separate room with facility to lay down

Medical facility, or counsel session for work life balance

New Joinee guide ,

Separate Washrooms ( if possible)

5-15 minutes Excercise session , for relief and keep them fit .

few weekend games , meeting etc.
