I am working with CTS as an associate, having joined as a PAT in Pune, India. Recently, I moved to onsite WA, USA, on an H1B visa. I need some information on Cognizant's notice period and relieving policy for associates like me who have moved from India to the US on Cognizant US payroll. I have searched all CTS internal websites but couldn't find any information regarding this. They have mentioned a two-week notice period for Cognizant US, but I'm not sure if this applies to me, as I moved from India to the US two months ago.

Can anyone please help if anybody has any information regarding CTS policy? I received a 60% hike onsite, but due to this confusion, I'm unable to decide, as the new employer wants me to join within three weeks. Please help.

I am in the same boat as you were in March 2013. The new company is looking to give a 2-week notice period. A little background for me, I joined CTS India and got transferred from Cognizant India to the USA.

1. As per the transfer letter, my employment with Cognizant is "At-will," and in the India offer letter, it is a 60-day notice period. Can you please suggest to me what the notice period would be if I resign in the USA?

2. How was your experience with the H1-B Transfer?
2.a) Did you resign after getting the H1-B transferred to the new company, as the new company is not ready to wait until the visa transfer?
2.b) How much risk is involved if I resign after the receipt of the H1-B transfer is acknowledged?

4. How was your experience with CTS separation? Your comments will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
