Please get the ISO standards form your nearest BIS office. Please go through your ISO 9001:2008 manual (if you have already certified for ISO). Refer to the manual of ISO 9001 with the standard. You will come to understand how to prepare a manual in line with the standard.
For ISO 14001 and OHSAS, you have to prepare mandatory procedures:
1. Aspect and impact study
2. Legal evaluation and compliances
3. Monitoring and measuring
4. Emergency response and preparedness
5. Legal and other requirements
6. Non-conformance and corrective and preventive action
7. Procedure for operational control
8. Procedure for Environmental Management Program
For OHSAS, the mandatory procedures are:
1. HIRA
2. Training and communication
3. Participation and consultation
You also have to form a CFT team for the implementation of ISO 14001 and 18001:
1. Team for aspect and HIRA
2. Safety committee
3. Social welfare committee
4. Emergency response team
5. Canteen committee
You have to train people for:
1. Safety (Fire PPE, Accidents, Risk mitigation)
2. First aid
3. Emergency response
4. Internal auditor
5. Aspect impact and HIRA
6. Awareness to all employees on EMS and OHSAS
7. Legal and other requirements
Mandatory records you must keep:
1. Statutory records
2. Records related to the factory act
3. Records related to the Pollution Control Board

Kindly follow the chronological steps below for the implementation of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001:
1. Management commitment to pursue HSE (ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001) and conduct a gap analysis.
2. Provide awareness training to senior management and associates.
3. Prepare HSE Policy and objectives.
4. Conduct aspect and impact analysis for ISO 14001.
5. Conduct HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) for OHSAS 18001.
6. Identify legal requirements and compliance for ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001.
7. Prepare documents such as the Emergency Evacuation and Preparedness Manual or a combined HSE Manual.
8. Prepare operational procedures, work instructions, or SOPs.
9. Train colleagues on internal audits within the organization (maximum 5 to 6, depending on the size of the organization).
10. Train colleagues in firefighting and first aid skills.
11. Implement the above requirements on the floor and in offices.
12. Conduct an internal audit to verify conformance and effectiveness of the system.
13. Conduct a document review audit (also called Stage I) by a third party.
14. Close non-conformities/observations identified during the Stage I audit.
15. Conduct the final audit (also called Stage II) by a certification agency, mainly a third party.
16. If the requirements are fulfilled, your organization will be awarded certification status.
