Dear seniors,
I have one doubt. I deposited the ESIC challan in SBI Bank, and somebody took away our company challan. I asked the bank, and they told me they are not responsible for your challan. Every day, many people come and go, watching your challan. So, in my bad luck, what can I do next? Please help and provide me with some guidance.
Thank you.

Mr. Karthik,
If you paid with a cheque, your banker will give you the cheque debit details, which will serve as evidence of remittance for your ESIC contribution.
If you paid with cash, ask the SBI banker to provide a Xerox copy of the transaction details.
ESIC has now introduced an online system to address the above and other issues. Within 2 months, it will be fully computerized.

Dear Karthik,
As suggested by members, the bank issues a certificate for having received the cheque. You need to furnish the cheque details for the bank to verify and furnish the certificate, and this will be good enough for ESI returns.

I have experienced the same. We have requested the bank through a letter with ESIC duplicate challan and our bank realization passbook. The bank then verified the cheque numbers with their books of accounts. We received the duplicate challan with the seal and "duplicate" written on top. Try the same manner.

Dear Kartik,
Greetings for the day.
Your ESIC challan is misplaced from the bank, no need to worry at all. Please ask the bank manager to issue the bank certificate in this regard. Before that, you have to submit a requisition to the bank with the requisite fee and the cheque clearance details. The same will be issued to you at the earliest.
Thanks & Regards,
