Dear friends,
I am a fresher and would like to know how to fill PF and ESI challans, and how the share/percentage is calculated. Kindly, could you send me a filled scanned copy of the PF and ESI challans? If anyone could assist me with this, I would be very thankful.

Dear Abhi, in order to fill up the PF Challan, you must know the percentage of contribution from both sides, i.e., employer contribution and employee contribution. Apart from this, you should also be aware of the admin charges. I think the following information will clear all your doubts:
Understanding PF Contributions
PF amount is calculated on the basic salary + DA of the employee. For better understanding, let's discuss with an example:
- Basic = 5000
- Employee contribution = 12% on basic, i.e., 600
- Employer contribution = 12% of basic, but out of 12%, 8.33% is remitted to the pension fund, and the rest, i.e., 3.67%, remains in the PF account.
- PF admin charges = 1.10% on PF gross, which here is 5000.
- EDLI = 0.50%
- EDLI admin charges = 0.01%
Above, all the contributions go to respective accounts, and they are as follows:
- A/C-1 = 12% and 3.67% = 600 and 184
- A/C-2 = 1.10% = 55
- A/C-10 = 8.33% = 417
- A/C-21 = 0.50% = 25
- A/C-22 = 0.01% = 0.5
I hope this clarifies the process for you. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
