Can anyone share me the workers gradation policy? We need to upgrade the workers grade on the basis of their education, skills, experience, attendance etc.,

The classification of workers in the wage notification issued from time to time by the respective governments under the Minimum Wages Act 1948 into Unskilled, Semi-skilled, Skilled and Highly Skilled Worker offers a ready to use formula for classification of workers and this classification is recognised by statute and is acceptable to all government officers. This may be examined, however it is pointed out that attendance is not a factor to be reckoned in gradation of workmen. Attendance could be a factor for calculating the actual quantum of benefit accruing to a workman for any defined period of time.

Dear colleague,
The classification is done for jobs first on the basis of job evaluation and then workers are fitted into an appropriate skill level based on their education, experience and skills.
As rightly pointed above by our colleague above the Minimum Wages Act, provide the template of job classification for the covered employments and also the definition of four skill levels.
You may refer to them and adopt/adapt it to your needs to start with.

Dear Brp1554,
Here two things are to be clarified.
Worker classification or categorization as suggested by our learned friends as per Minimum Wage Act and the categorization based on their job nature.
Second one is upgrading an employee on his performance which was sought by you. This can other be a part of performance management which also requires skill gap analysis to be made with a detailed job description of each individual work happening in the organization.
Please suggest which one you require.
