A union officer was creating a harassing environment by telling members that two fellow officers were having intimate relations at the worksite. He was aggressive and derogatory in his remarks about the two, especially the female, to fellow union members in what seemed like a smear campaign. He tried to have the two officers fired but was instead removed for his conduct. He then decided to sue the union and disseminated the court filing documents to the membership.
As a woman and fellow union member, I feel harassed and upset at continually hearing him sexually disparage these two fellow members, especially as I believe his claims are false. Even if not, his conduct is harassing and aggressive. Today, I was texted a copy of his lawsuit, which he disseminated to the membership, again naming one of the persons and alluding to the other with purely assumptive claims of a sexual nature. To me, this is a continued harassing environment and sexual harassment as well. I am sick and tired of having this hateful person's harassment of my co-union members forced upon me constantly. I am horrified at how the victims are being treated and openly disparaged.
Since the union is obviously unable to constrain the person who's suing them for self-inflicted consequences due to his own abusive behavior, what can I do to let it be known that I find these many months of his conduct harassing, hurtful, and sexually inappropriate, and that I want it to stop?
