How do IT companies get recognized as Tier 1 or Tier 2, etc., based on what criteria? Could anyone please guide me on this?

Companies which usually have a revenue of more than $1 billion come under tier 1 companies with more than 50,000 employees.

Companies with revenue over $100 million are categorized as tier 2 companies with employment of approximately 4,000 to 10,000 employees.

Companies having revenue less than tier 2 companies are classified as tier 3.
