Is there a possibility for a loan amount to be adjusted against the maternity pay?

If employee took a loan and repayment is still pending, during which she went on a paternity leave, is there a possibility for a loan amount to be adjusted against the maternity pay and once the recovery is done, maternity pay can start as per the remaining time period and money due. Kindly let me know.

She went on a paternity leave -??? Maternity/Paternity?
When loan has been taken then any document prepared how the loan repayment will be done? If not done please create SOP how loan recovery to be done
If done then please recover dues as per that plan only
Please ensure you do not club maternity benefit with loan...

Maternity leave cannot be adjusted with recoveries.
Be careful as during inspection by labour or audit, less payment will get pointed out.

Dear Friend,
Please go through the payment of wages Act, the Act provide for deductions. You can plan your deductions accordingly. Salary during maternity leave is also a salary.

Dear Colleague,
You are obliged to pay full maternity benefit during maternity leave without any deduction towards loan repayment.

Mr.Bharat Get has correctly pointed you the relevant act. Please do not deduct anything unless authorised by law. Even in cases employee has agreed earlier it might be unlawful as per act.

Maternity pay cannot be adjusted against any loan. Loan is a debt and such pays are a kind of special allowance which companies provide to its employees.
