Termination Notice: Should Employers Pay Extra Salary if Notice is Already Given?

STPL2016
My query is, if the company had given one month prior notice of termination to some employees, is the employer liable to pay the extra notice period salary even though they had given notice to them?

Hi Medha,

Please refer to the appointment letter's termination clause for a better understanding regarding the employee's termination. That will help.

Thank you.

Dear Medha,

Notice pay is paid in the absence of notice served to the employee prior to his termination. Furthermore, if the company had served notice regarding termination one month prior, it is not required to pay. The notice period should be exact as per the terms of appointment.

Thank you.

Notice of termination: Was it written or verbal? If written, there is no need to pay additional notice pay.

It's written, one-month termination, but this termination is due to "no work" as the company itself is in financial crisis.
