Appointment letter can be given to Trainee-Engineer

I am working in a construction company(HR department), need advice can we give appointment letter to Trainee engineer

Yes you can give an appointment letter to trainee engineer which contains there designation and tenure of work along with company policies clearly.

Dear Alpana,
You have to issue appointment letter specifying designation as Trainee Engineer, training period, stipend , leave rules and commitment whether he will be absorbed in regular service on successful completion of training period or not.
You have option of engaging him under Apprentices Act or on company's roll.
