Employee Absconded After 30 Days: Are We Still Required to Pay Their PF Contributions?

anshika_sinha
Hi All, I need a suggestion. An employee joined and worked for 30 days, and after receiving the salary for 30 days, absconded. Is the company liable to pay PF contributions to him/her? In this case, the employee had a previous PF account which he/she wanted to withdraw, so didn't share the UAN details. Since we have the Aadhaar card of that particular employee, we were able to obtain the UAN Number. If we deposit in that account, it might create an issue for the employee.

Rules for PF Contributions

Are there any rules stating that the company is only liable to pay employees' PF if they complete a certain number of days with the organization? What should we do? Please suggest.

Hi Friend,

I hope you have collected Form 11 from this employee. If yes, then the details will be available in the form. If not, you can create a new UAN and deposit his contribution. There is no specific rule for the number of days.
