Trainee Quit After Just 8 Days: How Should I Respond to His Salary Request?

pavitraa.
Hi,

We recently hired a trainee for a stipend, and he discontinued after working for only 8 days as he could not cope up with our projects. What is the reply I can give him? Is there any specific rule?

Thanks
pavitraa.
Sorry to add: He is demanding the salary for 8 days. Should that be given?

Answer: Yes, you should pay him for the 8 days he worked for you.

Addressing the Trainee's Stipend Request

1. You have given an appointment for a certain post. You mentioned that there will be training, and a stipend will be paid during the probation training period.

2. He has attended regularly for 8 days. His attitude was not accepted by you, so he was either removed or he dropped out himself.

Now, come to the point. Divide his monthly stipend salary by 26 and multiply it by 8; there comes his 8-day salary. Pay it to his bank account and clarify to him that the full and final settlement is completed.

Dear Pavitra,

What does the appointment letter say regarding exits? What is the notice period for the same? Has the appointment letter been given? Has he absconded or resigned?

The answers to all these questions will provide the forum with a clearer view, where you could get a clear answer....

Dear Pavitra,

I wish to inform as follows:

1. An employee who has worked for as little as one day is entitled to their salary and can rightfully demand the same.

2. If you encounter such a situation, please refer to the terms and conditions of the appointment order/letter.

3. If no order/letter has been issued, simply proceed with the settlement and pay the amount to the employee.

4. In the current case, please make the payment and close the matter.

Warm Regards,
