Please also help me understand the effectiveness of recruitment and provide me with formats. Kindly suggest your thoughts on how I can implement an effective onboarding process. Please share your methods as well.

Dear Payal,

It's the responsibility of the HR Department to create a first impression that can have a lasting impact on new joiners. Effective onboarding helps create a lasting impact and changes employees' outlook about the company, whereas poor onboarding will definitely have a calamitous effect.

Effective Onboarding Process

Onboarding starts before hiring.

New hires should feel welcomed and valued.

Use your best employees to welcome new resources.

Inform all employees about the new hire, either in person or by sending a welcoming note.

The welcome note should include the new hire’s role, his/her previous experience, education, etc.

Introduce the new employee to the team.

Train the new hire with a clear purpose.

Provide the new hire with the appropriate trainer.

Peer mentoring can also be part of onboarding.

Strengthen the connection between work and people.

Regularly check with new employees to ensure they are best prepared for their job.

A successful onboarding process reflects the time and effort put into it.

Always make sure you set a positive tone.

The main point is to set employees up to succeed.

Hope this will help you.

Regards,

Sonia Thomas
